Overhauling the vehicle digital dashboard,
based on driving needs

A human-oriented and more intuitive operating experience

Nowadays, many modifications made to automotive electronics are not driven by driving needs. An array of complex functions and fanciful operating procedures merely produced usable systems, but falls short of providing user experiences that are tailored to actual needs. Emtek's design objective was not visual optimization, but rather, to carve a niche for itself in the existing vehicle modification market by enhancing the operability and uniqueness of the entire interface.

Taking apart the details through research, and providing a more precise interface design

With the owner's brand image in mind, the design process for this project included market competitiveness analysis, charting the product’s development direction by examining the company’s technological edge, focusing on the core functions and actual usage environment, and planning and re-designing the new interface.

Streamlining by removing all irrelevant functions

Through integration of functions with the physical buttons on the electronic dashboard and repeated reassessments of the presentation of primary and secondary information, we sought to define the functions of each screen even more clearly.
